Mokshya Yoga Retreat's 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training retreat unfolds over 25 days and helps you deepen your practice, empower you with invaluable skills, and enable you to share the profound benefits of yoga with others. Under the guidance of highly experienced instructors committed to your development, you will delve into a comprehensive curriculum covering asanas, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, yoga philosophy, teaching methodologies, and more.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will earn a respected 200-hour certification from Yoga Alliance, qualifying you to register as a certified yoga teacher worldwide. Beyond certification, you will join a supportive community dedicated to ongoing growth and mutual inspiration.
Course Syllabus
Our teaching preparation program follows the Yoga Sutras of Panatajali and covers the history, philosophy, and practice of 120 asanas and different susksma byayama or dynamic yogic postures.
As the training evolves, we delve into the basics of Ayurveda, yogic lifestyle, panchakosha, as well as human anatomy and physiology theories that support proper alignments and prevent injuries. Our curriculum includes:
Pre-Asana – More than 30 basic and preparatory movements to warm up the body, muscles and align the joints.
Asana – This training program incorporates approximately 90 yoga poses that accommodate varying levels of proficiency and ensure comprehensive progression and skill development.
Pranayama –The pranayama techniques offered in this program encompass a range of practices including deep breathing, alternate nostril breathing, Bhastrika (bellows breath), Bhramari (humming bee pranayama), and Ujjayi (psychic breath), and Shitakari (cooling pranayama).
Kriya – Mokshya Yoga Retreat's curriculum also integrates traditional Hatha Yoga techniques, such as nasal, stomach, and frontal lobe cleansing as well as fire breath and candle gazing, introducing participants to comprehensive ancient yogic tools enhancing vitality and inner balance.
Dhyana – We also incorporate various meditation techniques such as Omkar, Yoga Nidra, Mantra, and Prana, which together with our lectures provide participants with a well-rounded understanding of how to foster mental clarity, inner peace, and profound spiritual growth.
Astanga Yoga – Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyan & Samadhi (Meditation from Ashtanga Yoga)
Practicum opportunities - Students will plan, coordinate, or conduct trial lessons or workshops with monitoring and feedback from our expert guides.
Special lectures - Depending on the season, Mokshya Yoga Retreat's teacher training program will supplement this course with talks, presentations, and various other lectures on different types of yoga such as prenatal, chair, karma, bhakti, jnana, swara, kundalini (chakra), and raj yoga from seasoned resident or guest lecturers.
