Course Syllabus

Our advanced teacher training program follows the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and expands on the history, philosophy, and practice of 150 asanas along with advanced sukshma vyayama (dynamic yogic postures).

As the training progresses, we delve deeper into Ayurveda, yogic lifestyle, panchakosha, yoga therapy, and advanced human anatomy and physiology, ensuring proper alignment, injury prevention, and therapeutic applications. Our curriculum includes:

    Pre-Asana

  • More than 50 preparatory movements and dynamic exercises to warm up the body, muscles, and joints.

  • Sukshma Vyayama techniques to enhance flexibility, mobility, and energy flow.

 

    Asana

  • This training program incorporates 150 yoga poses, covering foundational, intermediate, and advanced postures.

  • Emphasis on alignment, modifications, adjustments, and variations to support different levels of practitioners.

  • Sequencing techniques for Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and therapeutic yoga.

   

     Pranayama

     The advanced pranayama techniques covered in this program include:

  • Deep breathing & alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana).

  • Kapalabhati (frontal lobe cleansing breath).

  • Bhastrika (bellows breath) and Ujjayi (psychic breath).

  • Bhramari (humming bee pranayama) and Shitali/Shitkari (cooling pranayama).

  • Advanced breath retention techniques (Kumbhaka) and the integration of Bandhas (energy locks).

     

     Kriya

    Mokshya Yoga Retreat's curriculum includes advanced Hatha Yoga cleansing techniques, such as:

  • Jala Neti & Sutra Neti (nasal cleansing).

  • Dhauti (stomach cleansing).

  • Nauli (abdominal churning).

  • Basti (colon cleansing).

  • Trataka (candle gazing for focus and clarity).

 

     Dhyana (Meditation)

   We integrate various meditation techniques to enhance self-awareness and inner peace, including:

  • Omkar Meditation and Mantra Meditation.

  • Yoga Nidra for deep relaxation and subconscious healing.

  • Pranic Meditation and Chakra Meditation for energy balancing.

  • Silent and guided meditation practices for mindfulness and focus.

 

     Ashtanga Yoga

   A deeper exploration of the Eight Limbs of Yoga, including:

  • Yama & Niyama (Ethical guidelines).

  • Asana & Pranayama (Postures and breath control).

  • Pratyahara & Dharana (Withdrawal of senses and concentration techniques).

  • Dhyana & Samadhi (Meditation and enlightenment states).

  • Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary and Intermediate Series for advanced sequencing.

 

    Yoga Anatomy & Physiology

  • Advanced human anatomy: Muscle function, skeletal system, and movement mechanics in yoga.

  • Yoga therapy applications: Injury prevention and rehabilitation techniques.

  • Subtle body anatomy: Chakras, Nadis, Panchakosha (five sheaths), and energy systems.

     

     Practicum Opportunities
